CYLINDER BLOCK REBORING & HONING
Engines are subject to wear and stress from day-to-day driving, overheating and overloading.
Contaminates that enter the engine through the air intake or through the engine oil system cause wearing of the cylinders and on the piston surfaces. As cylinder wear increases, engine efficiency decreases to the point that the cylinders must be bored, and the pistons replaced to return the engine to peak operating efficiency.
Oversized pistons are then required to take up the difference that the boring created. Pistons are usually but not always available; then the block will require re-sleeving or linering back to standard size or a size that a suitable piston is available.
After boring engine block, a cross hatch pattern is used to retain oil in order to ensure proper lubrications and ring seal pistons in cylinders.
These different services are guaranteed by our state of the art reboring & honing machines.
